The second-cycle Master’s degree programme International Business and Sustainable Development was approved by the Council of the National Agency for Quality in Higher Education of the Republic of Slovenia on 18 December 2014.

Duration of the Programme
The Master’s programme in International Business and Sustainable Development lasts two years.

Entry Requirements
The following candidates may enrol in the first year of the Master’s degree programme in International Business and Sustainable Development:

Candidates who have completed a first-cycle study programme in a relevant field (social sciences) and obtained at least 180 ECTS.

Candidates who have completed a higher professional degree programme in a relevant field (social sciences).

Candidates who have completed equivalent study programmes in other fields and have fulfilled additional study requirements. These additional requirements must be completed prior to enrolment and are determined by the IBS Senate.
If the number of applicants exceeds the number of available study places, candidates are selected based on:

Average grade of first-cycle studies (60%), and
-
Grade of the undergraduate thesis (40%).
Mode of Study
Part-time study.
Forms of Study

Classical (on-site) study:
Lectures are conducted in a classroom environment, enabling direct interaction with lecturers, guest speakers, and fellow students. Teaching follows the official timetable. -
Combined (hybrid) study:
A combination of classroom-based lectures and live online instruction via MS Teams, integrating the advantages of classical and online learning.
Study Requirements and Progression
To complete the programme, students must accumulate 120 ECTS.
Students may progress to the second year if they have earned at least 45 ECTS from first-year courses.
Exceptionally, the IBS Senate, upon proposal by the Academic Affairs Committee, may grant progression to a student who does not meet this requirement but has justified reasons, in accordance with the Statutes.
Attendance at lectures is defined by the implementing curriculum. Upon successful completion of all programme requirements, the student defends their Master’s thesis.

The Master’s programme in International Business and Sustainable Development is intended for graduates of various undergraduate programmes who will encounter sustainable development as a key factor in business decision-making.

Elective Courses

Second year:
Students select two elective courses from the list specified in the study programme curriculum. -
Third year:
Students select two elective courses from the same elective course list.
Restriction:
Elective courses selected in the second year cannot be repeated in the third year.
Semester Implementation
Courses are delivered in accordance with the timetable for the respective academic year.

Courses designated for a single semester are conducted in that semester.

Courses with two possible semesters are delivered according to the timetable and not in both semesters.
